TAMPA, FLORIDA – 3/23/2018-  Custom Apparel Startups this week released Episode # 70.  Recorded & broadcast live on Youtube and Facebook; this episode offers helpful advice for business owners planning to use events to drive traffic.

The Custom Apparel Startups group broadcasts weekly whereby industry experts lay out helpful advice that business owners can use to grow their business.

This week’s discussions include:

  • What you can do BEFORE the event to guarantee success.
  • How to sell at events regardless of customer attendance. The secret to selling at events even if no customer shows
  • How to handle groups of walk-ups.
  • What are promotional items (tchotchke’s) and how do they affect your business?

The Custom Apparel Startups broadcast is hosted by Marc Vila of Colman and Company and Mark Stephenson of ColDesi.  The podcast provides detailed advice on sales, marketing and advertising for the custom apparel marketplace, as well as unique insights into specific techniques that work best for these markets.

Regarding “Premarketing,” one of the topics discussed this week; Mark Stevenson said, “This is a great way to bring people to meet you and pull some business in advance.”  You get them to commit to visiting you there at the show to pick up their order. He said.

Other Subjects Covered:

Refine Your 30-Second Pitch – At trade shows, you only have about 30 seconds before you lose the attention of the person.

Make Connections at the Event – Are you wearing custom apparel? You should be!

Have a way to collect emails, get reviews, get followers, etc. – Get creative “Like me on FB and get a coupon” etc.

When possible, go before you attend – This is an opportunity to scope out the scene. See what booths get attention and what’s working best.

Have a way people can keep your info – Think of your audience. If its businesspeople; try pens and cards. If its dog lovers, a small bag of treats with your card perhaps.

Mark and Marc covered specific examples of how to use each one of these ideas in your business.
